Grace Fischer,
This is such a cute book with a nice story that children would love to read。 This book would teach children about different types of animals and how the cubs and the fully grown ones look like。
Darrie McCain Morgan ,
Some of the things I liked about this book was that once the baby was born he knew he had a mother even though he didnt know who it may be。 I would have the children tell me the names of animals the bird goes around asking, are you my mother。 The ending of the book is really good。
Manisha Pierre,
I love this book and the journey he goes on searching for his mother。 The book is very heart warming。 I recommend reading to children。
Makenzie VanderHorst,
Lovely size and format, ideal for reading to toddlers。 I was however surprised that this version of the book is abridged, I had just thought it would be in the board book format。
Alishea Ramsey,

tAre you my mother is about I baby bird, looking for his mother who left to find food。 Lost and alone, began to search in weird places, calling for his mother。 This story teaches children we all have a mother who takes care of us even when she isn’t around。 Many activities can be used from this book, for example, bird cycle, story sequence, crating, and engineering。 Children will relate to this book and enjoy reading it with their mother。
Tracey Congo,
I like this book because it can encourage a child's curiosity about their world。 I would use this book to talk about families and about how mother's take care of their babies。 I like this book because it can encourage a child's curiosity about their world。 I would use this book to talk about families and about how mother's take care of their babies。 。。。more
Teagan Brown,
This book is an absolutely wonderful book for younger children! It is easy for them to follow along with and easy enough storyline for them to understand。 I remember reading this all the time as a child, and I thought it was the cutest book。 It has a fun and cute story for children to enjoy while they are reading it too!
Sequoia Isaac,
This book is one of my favorites to read to my own children。 They love saying “Are You my mother “
Tami Speakman,
This is a very cute book that shows children if they get separated from their parent(s) they can find them again。 The book also helps the children see and hear directional words like up or down。 The book also shows different animals so the children can learn what the word looks like for that animal。
Blake Lumar,
This book was one of my favorites as a child。 The baby bird looking for his family was heart jerking because you just want the baby bird to be reunited with his mom。 The repetition in this book just made the book even better。
Edna Gonzalez,
I rated this book as a five star for the baby bird’s perseverance。 It shows how a baby bird goes out his best looking for his mother even though he couldn’t fly。 This was not an impediment for him。 He asked many animals if they were his mother but they all replied “no”。 This book illustrates well the necessity of a mother to a child。 The baby bird felt lost and worried without his mother。 A child finds love, compassion , refuge, dependence, and more in their mother。 At the end of the book we see I rated this book as a five star for the baby bird’s perseverance。 It shows how a baby bird goes out his best looking for his mother even though he couldn’t fly。 This was not an impediment for him。 He asked many animals if they were his mother but they all replied “no”。 This book illustrates well the necessity of a mother to a child。 The baby bird felt lost and worried without his mother。 A child finds love, compassion , refuge, dependence, and more in their mother。 At the end of the book we see the baby bird smart enough to recognize his mother because she was a bird, and she looked like him。 Beautiful story。 。。。more
Christina Anderson,
This has to be the sweetest book I have ever read。 When the baby bird falls from his nest, he can not find his mother。 He goes around asking any and everything if they are his mother。 He can not find her。 Then, a big piece of machinery comes and scoops the little bird up and places him back in his nest。
Maye,

Anna Croft,
Are You My Mother? is a book my mom always read to me growing up, so naturally, I love this book。 Besides the sentimental value, it is still a very good book。 Just reading it now, at 19, I see it a bit differently。 For kids, this could be a funny book because the baby bird is asking a cat and cow if they are his mother, when clearly, they are not。 Now, for me though, I think of how scared the baby bird would feel and how awful the mom would have felt if she would have came home and her baby wasn Are You My Mother? is a book my mom always read to me growing up, so naturally, I love this book。 Besides the sentimental value, it is still a very good book。 Just reading it now, at 19, I see it a bit differently。 For kids, this could be a funny book because the baby bird is asking a cat and cow if they are his mother, when clearly, they are not。 Now, for me though, I think of how scared the baby bird would feel and how awful the mom would have felt if she would have came home and her baby wasn't there。 This is a great book to teach kids to focus on the emotions of a story。 。。。more
Hailey,
I loved this book growing up。 I was obsessed with animals so I loved how this book went through a lot of different kinds of them。 I think it is a quick way to teach kids about different animals and how not everyone is their mother。
Lauren Wilson,
The book shows many identifiable animals and allows for children to compare them to the bird。
